Presented here are a mix of personal and academic work.

They are not commercial commissions, but explorations that showcase my design language, creativity, and approach to form and expression.

IN-YO

As an introduction to industrial design in my first semester at AHO, we designed  interactive lamps. The concept was a sphere resting in a half-sphere base, where the lamp is activated by physically rotating the top half.

This interactive lamp requires the user to physically rotate the sphere, embodying the idea of creating atmosphere through action. By turning the lamp to let the light shine, the user symbolically turns the day and mood towards brightness.

The lamp is named in-yo, the Japanese word for yin and yang. It represents a manifestation of this principle in everyday life, balancing light and darkness. The lamp depends on its base to complete the circuit and illuminate, just as in-yo depends on the interplay of opposites. Together, this creates harmony and balance.

LYNG RUNNING

AHO school project, spring 2025
